We hope you’re all enjoying the beautiful sunny weather as we move into the summer months! A special shout-out this month goes to our incredible trustees, Joe and Paul, who recently ran the London Marathon to raise vital funds for our cause. Their achievement was truly inspiring, with a whopping £12,700 raised, and we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated to their fundraising efforts. If you were inspired by their determination, it’s not too late to sign up for the Great North Run, so why not join in on the action?
As we reflect on their success, we’re reminded that to continue making a real impact, we need more fundraising initiatives from our community—whether big or small. It’s through your efforts that we can keep supporting those affected by prostate cancer. This month, we’re also asking people diagnosed with prostate cancer to complete our survey on the harms of treatment. We encourage group leaders to share the survey with their members, as this data will be vital in shaping future support and treatment advocacy. You’ll find more details on this important piece of work below.
We’re excited to share some new resources for Support Group Leaders in the Members Portal, created in response to your feedback. Be sure to check them out and don’t forget to sign up for the Proactive for Your Prostate campaign if you haven’t already. A big congratulations also goes to Ian Nightingale and the team at TPSA (Torbay Prostate Support Association), whose recent success in getting an article about their PSA blood testing events published in The Times is a significant step forward in raising awareness!
